Aerial Landing of Micro UAVs on Moving Platforms Considering Aerodynamic Interference

IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters
Despite numerous studies of landing on moving ground platforms, landing on midair aerial platforms remains a significant challenge due to aerodynamic interference between Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This letter presents a systematic onboard and real-

Numerical investigation of wingtip aerodynamic interference of two flapping wings on opposite sides

The Physics of Fluids
Aerodynamic interference occurs at the wingtips when flying organisms fly in a V formation. In this paper, the wingtip aerodynamic interference of two flapping wings on opposite sides at low Reynolds numbers (Re) is numerically investigated.

An experimental study of highway aerodynamic interferences

Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 1984
Abstract Energy and material considerations today point in the direction of smaller and lighter vehicles. With further reductions in the weight of vehicles, aerodynamic forces emerge as a major factor in energy and stability calculations. In the present study the aerodynamic interference forces between two vehicles (passenger cars and articulated ...

Aerodynamic interference between road vehicle and train during meeting on a single-level rail-cum-road bridge under crosswind

The Physics of Fluids
A single-level rail-cum-road bridge is a relatively new type of bridge structure that accommodates both roadway and railway traffic on the same level. The aerodynamic interactions between road vehicles, trains, and the bridge deck under strong crosswind ...

Aerodynamic interference effects of bridge-train-like bluff bodies with small flow attack angle

The Physics of Fluids
This paper employs numerical simulation to examine the impact of variations in flow angle of attack (α) and low Reynolds number (Re) on the aerodynamic performance of the RC-TLBB (rectangle cylinder and train-like bluff body) system subjected to ...

Aerodynamic interference for supersonic low-aspect-ratio missiles

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1995
and K for low-aspect-ratio, cruciform wingbodies with clipped delta fins for Mach numbers from 3 to 4 and angles of attack up to 20 deg. The ratios of fin span to body radius (S/R) range from 1.3 to 2, so that aspect ratios vary from 0.05 to 4 and taper ratios vary from 0 to 0.975. Euler results compare well with experimental data.

Wind loads on a square high-rise building under aerodynamic interference effects of a short building in close proximity

The Physics of Fluids
Although the interference effect of an equally high or higher building has been examined extensively, the interference effect of a short building in close proximity on the wind pressure of a high-rise building has not yet been investigated ...

Aerodynamic interference effects of a proposed taller high‐rise building on wind pressures on existing tall buildings

The Structural design of tall and special buildings, 2020
When a large super high‐rise building taller than the surrounding tall buildings is built in a dense urban area, the aerodynamic interference effects of the surrounding buildings on the proposed building attract much attention, while the interference ...

Unsteady airfoil pressures produced by periodic aerodynamic interference

AIAA Journal, 1982
An experimental study was made of the unsteady pressures induced on a two-dimensional airfoil by the rotation of an elliptical cylinder located behind and beneath the airfoil trailing edge. The experiment was conducted in a low Mach number flow for reduced frequencies based on airfoil semichord up to 6.4. Mean pressures and phases and amplitudes of the

Numerical Analysis on Aerodynamic Interference of a Novel Tilt-rotor UAV in Transition Mode

Cybersecurity and Cyberforensics Conference, 2020
In order to investigate the aerodynamic interference of a novel tilt-rotor UAV in transition mode more effectively, numerical analysis based on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) is completed in this paper.
