Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Massively parallel aerodynamic shape optimization

Computing Systems in Engineering, 1992
Abstract We consider the problem of finding the shape of an airfoil which produces a pressure distribution closest to a desired one. The flow is modeled by the nonlinear potential equations of compressible flow. The problem is formulated as an optimization problem constrained by a discrete approximation to a nonlinear boundary value problem.

Effect of Shape Parameterization on Aerodynamic Shape Optimization

45th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2007
This paper studies the effect of shape parameterization on automatic aerodynamic shape optimization. Four shape parameterization techniques are studied: mesh points, Hicks-Henne bump functions, B-spline curves and the PARSEC method. The objective is to compare them based on accuracy and impact on the computational cost.

Variable-Fidelity Aerodynamic Shape Optimization

2011
Aerodynamic shape optimization (ASO) plays an important role in the design of aircraft, turbomachinery and other fluid machinery. Simulation-driven ASO involves the coupling of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solvers with numerical optimization methods.

Aerodynamic shape optimization of turbomachinery cascades

13th Computational Fluid Dynamics Conference, 1997
During the last years, steadily increasing interest in computer based methods for aerodynamic shape optimization can be observed. The approaches that emerged up to now can be divided mainly into two groups methods based on genetic algorithms and numerical optimization methods.

Aerodynamic Shape Optimization Methods

1997
Although fast and accurate in creating aerodynamic shapes compatible with the specified surface pressure distribution, the inverse shape design methods create configurations that are not optimal even at the design operating conditions [163], [164].
