Coupled Ionic‐Molecular Release Governed by Dissolution and Diffusion in Multicomponent Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Volume 23, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Multicomponent mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MMBGs) were engineered to enable coupled ionic and molecular release for controlled ionic and molecular release applications. The nanoparticles (70SiO2–20CaO–4B2O3–3ZnO–3CuO, mol%) were synthesized via a microemulsion‐assisted sol–gel route, yielding spherical particles (∼560 nm) with ...

Impact of Crystallinity and Ni–Fe Composition on the Oxygen Evolution Performance of NixFe1‐xO Electrocatalysts in Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
Expensive platinum group metals (PGMs) are used to enhance the anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) kinetics, and they represent a real bottleneck in the commercialization of anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWEs). Therefore, we present a scalable and economical homogeneous precipitation method to synthesize NixFe1‐xO nanoparticles with

Revisiting Defect‐Engineered M(III)‐Doped ZnO Photocatalysts for Emerging Pollutant Photodegradation and Mineralization: A Mini‐Review

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Water pollution has become a major environmental concern due to industrial, agricultural, and urban activities that release various pollutants into freshwater systems. ZnO‐based photocatalysis is an effective strategy for organic pollutant degradation, but its performance is limited by rapid electron–hole recombination and weak adsorption capacity ...

Trapping a Metastable Node in an Amorphous Metal–Organic Framework

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 19, 4 May 2026.
Frustrated assembly in an amorphous Fe‐BDC framework is shown to trap a distorted, metastable Fe3O node as the dominant local motif. X‐ray PDF analysis and DFT calculations reveal that rapid network percolation outpaces node relaxation, locking in a high‐energy puckered geometry.
