Data‐Driven Review on Aerogels and Polymeric Aerogels
Abstract A thoroughly data‐driven review on the chemistry, properties, and applications of aerogels is provided. Aerogel is a category of solid materials having homogeneous, highly porous nanostructures. Unique physicochemical properties of aerogels have attracted much attention in wide fields due to their potentials for energy ...

This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Small Angle Neutron Scattering of Aerogels: Simulations and Experiments
A numerical simulation of silica aerogels is performed using diffusion-limited cluster-cluster aggregation of spheres inside a cubic box (with periodic boundary conditions). The volume fraction $c$ is taken to be sufficiently large to get a gel structure

Cellulosic materials as biopolymers and supercritical CO2as a green process: chemistry and applications [PDF]
In this review, we describe the use of supercritical CO2 (scCO2) in several cellulose applications. The focus is on different technologies that either exist or are expected to emerge in the near future.

Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Preparation and Characterization of Supercritical CO2 Nanocellulose Aerogels
This paper uses poplar wood chips as raw materials to prepare nanocellulose (NCC) by sulfuric acid hydrolysis, and then through physical gelling of inorganic salt solution, tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) replacement and supercritical CO2 drying to prepare the ...

Constructing Cellulose Diacetate Aerogels with Pearl-Necklace-like Skeleton Networking Structure
Cellulose and its derivative aerogels have attracted much attention due to their renewable and biodegradable properties. However, the significant shrinkage in the supercritical drying process causes the relatively high thermal conductivity and low ...

Reduction of the Casimir force using aerogels
By using silicon oxide based aerogels we show numerically that the Casimir force can be reduced several orders of magnitude, making its effect negligible in nanodevices.

The cluster model: A hierarchically-ordered assemblage of random-packing spheres for modelling microstructure of porous materials [PDF]
A new structural model based on the premises widely used for describing the structure of random materials, and especially aerogels, is introduced. Aerogels are described as an assemblage of randomly-packed spheres in several hierarchically-ordered levels.

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.
