Susceptibilities of Motile Aeromonas sp. to Antimicrobial Agents

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1991
Resistance to antimicrobial agents of 106 isolates of motile Aeromonas sp. was characterized. The results indicated that in vitro susceptibilities among the three species of the motile Aeromonas sp. were similar, and only the distribution of susceptibility to cephalothin was different. The percentage of resistance of A.

Detection of a unique fibrinolytic enzyme in Aeromonas sp. JH1

The Journal of Microbiology, 2011
A fibrinolytic enzyme was found in a Gram-negative bacterium, Aeromonas sp. JH1. SDS-PAGE and fibrinzymography showed that it was a 36 kDa, monomeric protein. Of note, the enzyme was highly specific for fibrinogen molecules and the hydrolysis rate of fibrinogen subunits was highest for α, β, and γ chains in that order.

Proposal to assign Aeromonas diversa sp. nov. as a novel species designation for Aeromonas group 501

Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 2010
The Aeromonas group 501, also named Aeromonas sp. HG13, is taxonomically close to A. schubertii. Results obtained in previous studies, including DNA-DNA hybridization and DNA fingerprinting, suggest that Aeromonas group 501 could constitute a different Aeromonas species.

Aeromonas sharmana sp. nov., isolated from a warm spring

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2006
A Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic bacterial strain designated GPTSA-6Twas isolated from a water sample collected from a warm spring in Assam, India. Preliminary analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of this isolate revealed its affiliation to the familyAeromonadaceae.

Aeromonas piscicola sp. nov., isolated from diseased fish

Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 2009
Four Aeromonas strains (S1.2(T), EO-0505, TC1 and TI 1.1) isolated from moribund fish in Spain showed a restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) pattern related to strains of Aeromonas salmonicida and Aeromonas bestiarum but their specific taxonomic position was unclear.

Phylogenetic Evidence Suggests That Strains of Aeromonas hydrophila subsp. dhakensis Belong to the Species Aeromonas aquariorum sp. nov.

Current Microbiology, 2008
Three strains of Aeromonas hydrophila subspecies dhakensis, including the type strain, were subjected to phylogenetic analysis by sequencing gyrB, rpoD, and 16S rRNA genes and compared with all known Aeromonas species. The obtained gyrB and rpoD phylogenetic trees clearly suggested that these A. hydrophila subsp.

Comparison of different media for the enumeration of Aeromonas sp. in freshwaters

Journal of Applied Bacteriology, 1996
I. KERSTERS, N. SMEYERS AND W. VERSTRAETE. 1996. Ampicillin‐dextrin agar (ADA), m‐Aeromonas agar (mA), starch glutamate ampicillin penicillin C‐glucose agar (SGAP‐10C), trehalose agar (TRE) and ampicillin bile salts inositol xylose agar (MIX) were evaluated for the isolation of Aeromonas sp ...

The recently proposed species Aeromonas sharmana sp. nov., isolate GPTSA-6T, is not a member of the genus Aeromonas.

International microbiology : the official journal of the Spanish Society for Microbiology, 2007
A new species of the genus Aeromonas, Aeromonas sharmana sp. nov., was recently described on the basis of a single isolate, strain GPTSA-6T, obtained from a warm spring in India. The description of this new species included biochemical characterization, antibiotic susceptibility, cellular fatty-acid profiles, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing, but not ...

ISOLATION, ENUMERATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF AEROMONAS SP.

Journal of Food Safety, 1988
Methodologies for the isolation of Aeromonas sp. from various sources, utilizing a broad range of media, are presented. Recommendations are made for the identification of Aeromonas isolates to the species level. The current nomenclature of Aeromonas sp. is discussed with reference to previously used taxonomic systems.
