Processability and Crosslink Density: Role of Peptizers in Natural Rubber and Chlorobutyl Rubber
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 22, June 10, 2026.This work evaluates how chemical and physical peptizers affect mastication, vulcanization behavior, and network formation in natural rubber and chlorobutyl rubber. Size‐exclusion chromatography, rheometry, DSC, and swelling analyses demonstrate improved processability but reduced crosslink density with peptizer addition.

To capture these effects accurately while maintaining computational efficiency, unsteady RANS modelling techniques are employed.
