Determination of the Exchange Current Density at Lithium │ Polymer Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a comprehensively validated method to determine the exchange current density (j0) at the interface of lithium metal and polymer electrolytes by combining electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with Bayesian inference and distribution of relaxation times analyses to successfully deconvolute solid electrolyte interphase and charge ...

Fully distributed consensus of nonlinear fractional multi‐agent systems based on combined event‐triggered mechanism

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView., 2022
This article focuses on the fully distributed leader‐following consensus problem of nonlinear fractional multi‐agent systems via event‐triggered control technique. The main intention of this article is to design a novel event‐triggered mechanism, which not only takes into account both the relative error and the absolute error of the samples but also ...

Gecko‐Inspired Adhesive for Robotic Grippers with Excellent Ultra‐Low‐Temperature Adhesion Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phenyl and vinyl groups are used to modify conventional polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to yield poly(methylphenylvinylsiloxane) (PMPVS). PMPVS‐based gecko‐inspired arrays with mushroom tips exhibit superior adhesion strength of 36.7 kPa even at −80 °C, which enhances by 5143% compared to PDMS‐based arrays (0.7 kPa at −70 °C).

TRAJECNETS: ONLINE FAILURE EVOLUTION ANALYSIS IN 2D SPACE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Prognostics and Health Management, 2019
We propose a novel Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) based autoencoder for embedding the run-to-failure time series sensor data in a 2D feature space. The embedding, extracted from the network, is in the form of a smooth trajectory, which represents the ...

Pre‐Constructed Mechano‐Electrochemical Adaptive Solid Electrolyte Interphase to Enhance Li+ Diffusion Kinetics and Interface Stability for Chemically Prelithiated SiO Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Silicon oxide (SiO) is emerging as the most advanced anode material. Herein, we propose a chemical prelithiation‐mediated strategy for SiO, which improves initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and pre‐constructs a mechano‐electrochemical adaptive solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Notably, the mechano‐electrochemical adaptive SEI enriched with LiF, Li3N,

Overview of the Applied Aerodynamics Division [PDF]

open access: yes
A major reorganization of the Aeronautics Directorate of the Langley Research Center occurred in early 1989. As a result of this reorganization, the scope of research in the Applied Aeronautics Division is now quite different than that in the past.
