Characterization and absolute calibration of an AERONET-OC radiometer
Applied Optics, 2021The Ocean Color component of the global Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET-OC) utilizes CE-318 sun photometers modified for above-water radiometry from fixed structures such as oil rigs, lighthouses, and service platforms. Primarily, AERONET-OC measurements allow determination of the water-leaving radiance required for the validation of ocean color ...

The AERONET network — emissions, atmospheric impact and regulations
Air & Space Europe, 2000Abstract The rapid growth of air traffic and the expectation that this growth will continue into the foreseeable future co-exist with the growing awareness of the need to limit or reduce the impact of human activities upon the world's climate and the natural environment.

Automated Quality Control of AERONET-OC LWN Data
Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, 2022Abstract Quality control (QC) practices are a fundamental requirement for any measurement program targeting the delivery of high-quality data. In agreement with such a need, the Ocean Color component of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET-OC) includes a number of QC steps ensuring the delivery of normalized water-leaving radiance LWN spectra at ...

Aerosol absorption characteristics over 23 AERONET locations
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Based on AERONET measurements, aerosol absorption properties over 23 AERONET sites are analyzed. The properties include aerosol single scatter albedo (SSA), correlation characteristic of SSA with aerosol optical thickness (AOT), absorption optical thickness and absorption wavelength index.

Characteristics of aerosol types from AERONET sunphotometer measurements
Atmospheric Environment, 2010By using observations from the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET), aerosol types are classified according to dominant size mode and radiation absorptivity as determined by fine-mode fraction (FMF) and single-scattering albedo (SSA), respectively. The aerosol type from anthropogenic sources is significantly different with regard to location and season ...

AeroNet - The Aviation Industry Network
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">Having accurate, up-to-date technical information that is easilly accessible is vital to the safe operation of any fleet of aircraft. The only real way to ensure the currency and accuracy of technical data is to use data which is constantly updated by the manufacturer over a network.
