Aerosol climatology over four AERONET sites: An overview

Atmospheric Environment, 2008
A 3-year data set from the AERONET sunphotometers is used to remotely sense the aerosol optical depth (AOD) and the Angstrom wavelength exponent (α) in four key locations characteristic of different environments. These sites are indicative of the dominance of different aerosol types, representing biomass burning, urban/industrial pollution, marine ...

Modeling the adjacency effects at AERONET-OC sites

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
A methodology is presented to quantify the adjacency effects induced in satellite ocean color radiometric data by the presence of land in coastal regions. Specifically, the adjacency radiance, defined as the difference in top-ofatmosphere (TOA) signal when accounting for and when neglecting nearby mainland, is parameterized to decouple the dependence ...

An AERONET-based aerosol classification using the Mahalanobis distance

Atmospheric Environment, 2016
We present an aerosol classification based on AERONET aerosol data from 1993 to 2012. We used the AERONET Level 2.0 almucantar aerosol retrieval products to define several reference aerosol clusters which are characteristic of the following general aerosol types: Urban-Industrial, Biomass Burning, Mixed Aerosol, Dust, and Maritime.

Comparing MODIS and AERONET aerosol optical depth over China

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2009
The newest daily and monthly Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aerosol optical depths (AOD or τ) dataset over land, C005, retrieved using the second-generation operational algorithm, were evaluated using a ground-based Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) dataset from 13 sites over China. The dataset covers the period 2003–2006.

Aerosol Characterization by AERONET Sunphotometry

2004
AERONET sunphotometer measurements performed at the Physics Department of Lecce’s University (Italy) (40° 20’ N, 18° 06’ E) are used to characterize aerosol properties by aerosol optical depths (AOD), single scattering albedos (SSA), Angstrom coefficients (Å), and fine (Nf) and coarse (Nc) number of particles per cross section of the atmospheric ...

Oceanic Aerosol Network: A Maritime Component of AERONET

2007
We suggest the establishment of the Oceanic Aerosol Network as a new component of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) that adheres to AERONET calibration and processing. Climate change studies, atmospheric correction of the satellite data, satellite data validation, and aerosol modeling creates a strong demand for new data acquisition.

Prvky propagandy na internetovém portálu Aeronet

2017
The aim of the thesis is to analyse selected articles from Aeronet, a controversial website repeatedly accused of spreading disinformation and propaganda, and to confirm or disprove elements of propaganda on this website. The work consists of three parts. Firstly it describes theoretical basis of propaganda and its specific communication.
