Fog collection with hairy wires

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
A hairy wire can perform a steady‐state water collection rate that is more than 2.5 times as high as a smooth cylindrical metal wire of the same size, due to the efficient fog deposition and drainage enabled by its dual scale structure. The fog collection rate in the figure is normalized to that of the metal wire.

Monte Carlo simulation of multiple scattered light in the atmosphere

open access: yes, 2013
We present a Monte Carlo simulation for the scattering of light in the case of an isotropic light source. The scattering phase functions are studied particularly in detail to understand how they can affect the multiple light scattering in the atmosphere.

Highly efficient spray cooling enabled by acoustic microdroplet atomizer

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
Spray cooling is a highly efficient cooling strategy for high‐power miniaturized electronic devices. In this work, we proposed an acoustic atomization cooling approach, which is able to generate high‐density microdroplets that vertically impact on the heating surface.
