Deformation and Degradation in 18650 Li‐Ion Cells Under Freeze‐Thaw Cycling
This study investigates the impact of freezethaw degradation of 18650 cells via combined electrochemical and x‐ray imaging studies. High‐resolution synchrotron X‐ray tomography reveals deformation of the jelly‐roll structure and delamination of electrode active materials in cells cycled at 1C and 4C. Moisture‐Driven Hydrogel Power Source with Asymmetric Ion Adsorption for Flexible Electronics
A hydrogel‐based power source employing asymmetric ion‐adsorbing electrodes and moisture‐driven gradients is reported. This design enables continuous electricity generation for over 4000 minutes without significant decay and without requiring external input.

In situ monitoring of bulk photoalignment reveals how molecular weight, azobenzene content, cooling rate, and thickness govern ordering in main‐chain liquid crystalline polymers. Optimized copolymers exceed conventional thickness limits, maintaining stable alignment up to 130 µm with high energy efficiency and reversible optical patterning.
