Resolving Bivalirudin Interference on Fibrinogen Testing by the Use of Activated Carbon

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 40, Issue 6, March 2026.
The influences of bivalirudin on fibrinogen assays differ considerably. Activated carbon can effectively remove bivalirudin from plasma, thereby eliminating its interference in fibrinogen detection. ABSTRACT Background Direct thrombin inhibitors may lead to falsely low fibrinogen results.

Evolution of the Transantarctic Basin (Southern Gondwana): Insights From Quantitative Sandstone Petrography

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 1, March 2026.
The deposition of the sandstone sedimentary succession of the Beacon Supergroup lasted more than 200 Myr (Devonian to Early Jurassic) in Victoria Land and nearby territories in the so‐called Transantarctic Basin, recording crucial events in the history of the Earth.

Toward All 2D‐Based Printed Raindrop Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 17, 20 March 2026.
A raindrop triboelectric nanogenerator (RD‐TENG) based on solution‐deposited 2D materials is described, where successive drop impacts generate short‐circuit signals. Graphene–SWCNT hybrid films serve as conductive contacts and transition metal dichalcogenides as active layer.
