The role of identification in data‐driven policy iteration: A system theoretic study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
Abstract The goal of this article is to study fundamental mechanisms behind so‐called indirect and direct data‐driven control for unknown systems. Specifically, we consider policy iteration applied to the linear quadratic regulator problem. Two iterative procedures, where data collected from the system are repeatedly used to compute new estimates of ...

Fusion ring revisited

open access: yes, 2018
In this note we describe a general elementary procedure to attach a fusion ring to any Kac-Moody algebra of affine type. In the case of untwisted affine algebras, they are usual fusion rings in the literature. In the case of twisted affine algebras, they

Initial State Privacy of Nonlinear Systems on Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we investigate initial state privacy protection for discrete‐time nonlinear closed systems. By capturing Riemannian geometric structures inherent in such privacy challenges, we refine the concept of differential privacy through the introduction of an initial state adjacency set based on Riemannian distances.

SKdV, SmKdV flows and their supersymmetric gauge-Miura transformations [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Communications in Nonlinear Mathematical Physics
The construction of Integrable Hierarchies in terms of zero curvature representation provides a systematic construction for a series of integrable non-linear evolution equations (flows) which shares a common affine Lie algebraic structure. The integrable

Short Distance Expansion from the Dual Representation of Infinite Dimensional Lie Algebras

open access: yes, 2003
We compute the short distance expansion of fields or operators that live in the coadjoint representation of an infinite dimensional Lie algebra by using only properties of the adjoint representation and its dual.

GENERAL BRANCHING FUNCTIONS OF AFFINE LIE ALGEBRAS [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1995
Explicit expressions are presented for general branching functions for cosets of affine Lie algebras ĝ with respect to subalgebras ĝ′ for the cases where the corresponding finite-dimensional algebras g and g′ are such that g is simple and g′ is either simple or sums of u(1) terms. A special case of the latter yields the string functions.

Adsorption Mechanisms and AI‐Driven Discovery of Biomass‐Based CO2 Sorbents

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review analyzes recent advances in biomass‐derived activated carbons for CO2 capture. It highlights the influence of precursors, activation methods, and surface modifications on adsorption performance. The integration of AI‐driven approaches for material optimization is discussed.

New biosensors and transgenic mice for multiplex cGMP imaging

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is a versatile second messenger that is important for human (patho‐)physiology and pharmacotherapy. Live‐cell imaging of cGMP with biosensors allows to elucidate its spatiotemporal dynamics in real time under close‐to‐native conditions. However, to monitor two separate cGMP pools or cGMP/cAMP

Symplectic Structure of Intrinsic Time Gravity

open access: yesUniverse, 2016
The Poisson structure of intrinsic time gravity is analysed. With the starting point comprising a unimodular three-metric with traceless momentum, a trace-induced anomaly results upon quantization.

The magic renormalisability of affine Gaudin models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We study the renormalisation of a large class of integrable σ-models obtained in the framework of affine Gaudin models. They are characterised by a simple Lie algebra g $$ \mathfrak{g} $$ and a rational twist function φ(z) with simple zeros, a double ...
