Decay of metastable atoms in the afterglow of single-electrode breakdown

open access: yesPhysics of Complex Systems
This paper deals with experimental studies of ionization waves igniting the breakdown in long discharge tubes in neon at low pressures. Ionization waves were produced by rectangular voltage pulses applied to the high-voltage electrode of the discharge ...

Electroluminescent Liquid Metal Marbles for Reconfigurable Multi‐Color Display

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 43, November 20, 2025.
Phosphor‐coated liquid metal marbles offer a reconfigurable electroluminescent multicolor display platform, where the plasma discharge across marble arrays generates colored light. By tuning the mixing ratio of different types of primary‐color‐emitting phosphor particles, full‐spectrum additive color mixing is achieved.

Intelligent Theranostic Systems Enabled by Aggregation‐Induced Emission in Precision Medicine

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) luminogens are driving a new generation of intelligent theranostic systems that integrate high‐fidelity imaging and multifunctional therapy. This review highlights how AIEgens, through restriction of intramolecular motion (RIM), enable deep‐tissue NIR‐II imaging, ultrasensitive biosensing, CRISPR‐assisted gene ...

Multiple Rebrightenings in the Optical Afterglow of GRB 210731A: Evidence for an Asymmetric Jet

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The broadband afterglow of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) is usually believed to originate from the synchrotron radiation of electrons accelerated by the external shock of relativistic jets.

Persistent Luminescent Nanoparticle-Loaded Filaments for Identification of Fabrics in the Visible and Infrared

open access: yesNanomaterials
Persistent luminescent materials are those which can store an amount of energy locally and release it slowly in the form of light. In this work, persistent luminescent nanoparticles (PLNPs) were synthesized and incorporated into polypropylene (PP ...
