GRB 221009A: Revealing a Hidden Afterglow during the Prompt Emission Phase with Fermi-GBM Observations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
Recently, LHAASO reported the detection of the brightest-of-all-time GRB 221009A, revealing the early onset of a TeV afterglow. We analyze the spectral evolution of the X-ray/gamma-ray emission of GRB 221009A measured by the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor

Single-Mode-Tuned Tricolor Emissions of Upconversion/Afterglow Hybrids for Anticounterfeiting Applications

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
This work presents a highly secure anticounterfeiting strategy based on upconversion/afterglow hybrids with tricolor emissions tuned by a single 975 nm laser.

The bright optical/NIR afterglow of the faint GRB 080710 - Evidence for a jet viewed off axis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the optical/near-infrared light curve of the afterglow of GRB 080710 in the context of rising afterglows. Optical and near-infrared photometry was performed using the seven channel imager GROND and the Tautenburg Schmidt telescope.

The first Swift X-ray Flash: The faint afterglow of XRF 050215B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present the discovery of XRF 050215B and its afterglow. The burst was detected by the Swift BAT during the check-out phase and observations with the X-ray telescope began approximately 30 minutes after the burst.

Narrowband Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Afterglow Materials

open access: yesMolecules
Narrowband afterglow materials display interesting functions in high-quality anti-counterfeiting and multiplexed bioimaging. However, there is still a limited exploration of these afterglow materials, especially for those with a full width at half maxima

Optical/Multiwavelength Observations of GRB Afterglows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
I review gamma-ray burst optical/multiwavelength afterglow observations since 1997, when the first counterparts to GRBs were discovered. I discuss what we have learned from multiwavelength observations of GRB afterglows in relation to the `standard ...

Radical Electroprecipitation from a Water|Oil|Electrode Interface Prolongs “Electro”Chemiluminescence of the Tris(2,2′‐bipyridyl)Ruthenium(II) and Benzoyl Peroxide System by 103

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Multiphase systems, including ones with liquid‐liquid phase boundaries, are the home to many curious chemistries including reaction acceleration and spontaneous formation of reactive species. Here we show the liquid‐liquid interface causes electrochemiluminescence and afterglow chemiluminescence lifetime to be enhanced by 220,000% in‐time, far beyond ...

Interpretation of the unprecedentedly long-lived high-energy emission of GRB 130427A

open access: yes, 2013
High energy photons (>100 MeV) are detected by the Fermi/LAT from GRB 130427A up to almost one day after the burst, with an extra hard spectral component being discovered in the high-energy afterglow. We show that this hard spectral component arises from

Host‐Guest Doping Enables Room Temperature Phosphorescence from Triarylboranes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
While pure triarylboranes show RTP in annealed PMMA films, they do not in crystalline form, contrary to our previous report. However, crystalline host‐guest triarylborane systems show persistent afterglow up to 8 s even at 1 ppb guest loading. Computations identify triplet‐triplet energy transfer as the mechanism governing this efficient RTP.

Effective scintillation materials based on solid solutions ZnS1–xTex and perspectives of their application [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2011
The optimal technological regime of formation ZnS1–xTex solid solution at spacing 0,0≤х≤0,1 has been determined, and has been shown that fritting in hydrogen atmosphere results in more rapid reaction in comparison to argon due to chemical-thermal etching
