Effective scintillation materials based on solid solutions ZnS1–xTex and perspectives of their application [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2011
The optimal technological regime of formation ZnS1–xTex solid solution at spacing 0,0≤х≤0,1 has been determined, and has been shown that fritting in hydrogen atmosphere results in more rapid reaction in comparison to argon due to chemical-thermal etching

Interpretation of the unprecedentedly long-lived high-energy emission of GRB 130427A

open access: yes, 2013
High energy photons (>100 MeV) are detected by the Fermi/LAT from GRB 130427A up to almost one day after the burst, with an extra hard spectral component being discovered in the high-energy afterglow. We show that this hard spectral component arises from

GRB Spectral Hardness and Afterglow Properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A possible relationship between the presence of a radio afterglow and gamma-ray burst spectral hardness is discussed. The correlation is marginally significant; the spectral hardness of the bursts with radio afterglows apparently results from a ...

Designing Physical Unclonable Functions From Optically Active Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Assigning unforgeable “fingerprints” to manufactured goods is a key strategy to fight global counterfeiting. Optical physical unclonable functions (PUFs) are chemically generated random patterns of optically active materials serving as unique authenticators.

Universal in situ supersaturated crystallization enables 3D printable afterglow hydrogel

open access: yesnpj Flexible Electronics
Stretchable afterglow materials have garnered widespread attention owing to their unique combination of optical properties and mechanical flexibility. However, achieving a crystal environment to suppress the non-radiative transition of triplet excitons ...

Compositional regulation of multi-component GYGAG:Ce scintillation ceramics: Self-sintering-aid effect and afterglow suppression

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics, 2023
(Gd,Y,Ce)3(YxGa1−x)2GaAl2O12 (GYGAG:Ce) scintillation ceramics with different Y excess, where x = 0.005−0.08, were fabricated by the solid-state reaction method.

Central engine afterglow of Gamma-ray Bursts

open access: yes, 2007
Before 2004, nearly all GRB afterglow data could be understood in the context of the external shocks model. This situation has changed in the past two years, when it became clear that some afterglow components should be attributed to the activity of the ...

Mechanoluminescent Aluminum Nitride Crystal for Super‐Sensitive Optical Manometry, Thermometry and Force Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the first discovery of intrinsic mechanoluminescence in undoped AlN crystals, accompanied by pronounced photoluminescence and persistent luminescence. It further demonstrates a defect‐emission–driven multifunctional optical sensing platform for force, pressure, and temperature detection, achieving exceptional sensitivities.

Stimuli‐Responsive Afterglow from Luminescent Liquid Crystal Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An active glow luminescent system for encoding, signaling, and tracking in dark environments has been developed by integrating inorganic ultralong afterglow phosphors with adaptive liquid crystal elastomer actuators. Abstract Stimuli‐responsive luminescent polymeric materials which combine afterglow emission with mechanical flexibility and adaptability

Tuning Multicolor Emission of Manganese-Activated Gallogermanate Nanophosphors by Regulating Mn Ions Occupying Sites for Multiple Anti-Counterfeiting Application

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
The ability to manipulate the luminescent color, intensity and long lifetime of nanophosphors is important for anti-counterfeiting applications. Unfortunately, persistent luminescence materials with multimode luminescent features have rarely been ...
