NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Topology optimization of fiber-reinforced materials for dynamic problems

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
In recent years, the popularity of fiber-reinforced materials in the aerospace and automobile industries grows due to their high stiffness-to-weight ratios. Thus, a structural design methodology is needed to bring out the celebrated mechanical properties

Integrating layered recurrent ANN with robust control strategy for diverse operating conditions of AGC of the power system

open access: yes, 2020
This study presents the structural, operational and control aspects of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind integrated power systems. The automatic generation control (AGC) of a meshed power system including DFIG-based wind turbines has been ...

An extremely optically dim tidal feature in the gas-rich interacting galaxy group NGC 871/NGC 876/NGC 877

open access: yes, 2014
We present GMRT HI observations and deep CFHT MegaCam optical images of the gas-rich interacting galaxy group NGC 871/NGC 876/NGC 877 (hereafter NGC 871/6/7). Our high-resolution data sets provide a census of the HI and stellar properties of the detected

Automatic Generation Control and its Implementation in Real Time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In power systems, the control mechanism responsible for maintaining the system frequency to the nominal value and the real power interchange between balancing authority areas to the scheduled values is referred to as automatic generation control (AGC ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

A novel cardiac differentiation method of a large number and uniformly-sized spheroids using microfabricated culture vessels

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy, 2020
Cardiomyocytes differentiated from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) have great potential for regenerative medicine and drug discovery. In this study, we developed a novel protocol to more reproducibly and efficiently induce cardiomyocytes. A

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
