Game of Ages in a Distributed Network

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2021
We consider a distributed IoT network, where each node wants to minimize its own age of information and there is a cost to make any transmission. A collision model is considered, where any transmission is successful from a node to a common monitor if no other node transmits in the same slot.

The Age Distribution of Poliomyelitis in Massachusetts

New England Journal of Medicine, 1948
DATA concerning the incidence of poliomyelitis in Massachusetts have been collected by the Department of Public Health since 1907. This material had been studied statistically by Forsbeck and Luther1 in 1930, and it was thought that a review of these older records, combined with the data accumulated during the past fifteen years would yield additional ...

Convergence of human age-sex distributions to an equilibrium-state age-sex distribution

Theoretical Population Biology, 1979
Abstract The main concern of the paper is to investigate the effects of introducing migration into the process of population growth using an overall net migration rate and an age-sex composition of net migrants (i.e., the net number of migrants) as compared with the case in which there is no migration.

Age Distribution of Patients with Parkinsonism*

Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 1976
ABSTRACT: The modal age at onset of the parkinsonian syndrome during the past thirty years is less than a decade higher than it was in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, suggesting that the same disease entity is affecting parkinsonian patients now as then.

Pubic symphysis age distributions

American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 1985
AbstractA further discussion of age assessment and palaeodemography requires detailed reviews of methods, especially pubic symphysis techniques. Before reanalysis of changes in symphyseal form, the initial steps in distributing ages must be examined.

Age distribution of IBD hospitalization

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, 2010

Age and the Distribution of Crime

American Journal of Sociology, 1989
This paper examines the age/crime distribution to determine whether there is a single pattern that is constant over time and across crime categories. Using arrest data of the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports for the periods of 1940, 1960, and 1980, the article compares parameters including age of maximum criminality, overall shape of the age-crime curve ...
