Growth Rings, Growth Ring Formation and Age Determination in the Mangrove Rhizophora mucronata [PDF]
The mangrove Rhizophora mucronata has previously been reported to lack annual growth rings, thus barring it from dendrochronological studies. In this study the reported absence of the growth rings was reconsidered and the periodic nature of light and dark brown layers visible on polished stem discs investigated.

The Age and Origin of Saturn’s Rings
Abstract The origin of Saturn’s rings is a long standing mystery in planetary science, for which the age of this system is a critical constraint. After having clarified what the age of the rings may mean, this article reviews several aspects of this question.

THE FIRST REPORT OF ABNORMAL AGE RINGS IN OTOLITHS LAPILLUS OF ARIIDS CATFISH
The present work aimed to record the first presence of abnormal age rings in Cathorops spixii lapillus otoliths from Cananeia-Iguape Estuarine-Lagoon Complex (CIELC), Southern region of Brazilian coast. In August 2018, 59 specimens of C.

The Milky Way’s middle-aged inner ring [PDF]
Aims. We investigate the metallicity, age, and orbital anatomy of the inner Milky Way, specifically focussing on the outer bar region. Methods. We integrated a sample of APOGEE DR16 inner Galaxy stars in a state of the art bar-bulge potential with a slow pattern speed and investigated the link between the resulting orbits and their [Fe/H] and ages.

Age of Gossip on Generalized Rings
We consider a gossip network consisting of a source forwarding updates and $n$ nodes placed geometrically in a ring formation. Each node gossips with $f(n)$ nodes on either side, thus communicating with $2f(n)$ nodes in total. $f(n)$ is a sub-linear, non-decreasing and positive function. The source keeps updates of a process, that might be generated or

First record of growth rings for 11 native subtropical anuran species of South America [PDF]
: Skeletochronology is the most accurate method to estimate a population age structure. The methodology is based on the analysis of secondary bone tissue in order to count growth rings.

Predicting circuit aging using ring oscillators [PDF]
This paper presents a method for inferring circuit delay shifts due to bias temperature instability using ring oscillator (ROSC) sensors. This procedure is based on presilicon analysis, postsilicon ROSC measurements, a new aging analysis model called the Upperbound on fMax (UofM), and a look-up table that stores a precomputed degradation ratio that ...

A rare study on the quantitative relationship between the energetic impact of debris flows on the intensity and duration of growth disturbances of tree rings was carried out, partly due to a lack of feasible approaches and detailed field evidence.
