Bimetallic Nanoreactor Activates cGAS‐STING Pathway via mtDNA Release for Cancer Metalloimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Strategic Coalitions and Agenda-Setting in Fragmented Congresses: How the PRI Sets the Legislative Agenda in Mexico

open access: yesBrazilian Political Science Review, 2018
This essay suggests a theory of strategic legislative agenda control. It argues that a single party can effectively set the agenda under majoritarian gatekeeping rules without obtaining majority or even plurality status. The agenda-setting party need not

Foreign News and Public Opinion: Attribute Agenda-Setting Theory Revisited

open access: yesEcquid Novi: African Journalism Studies, 2009
This research found strong support for the attribute agenda-setting theory by examining media coverage of nine foreign countries in The New York Times and The Times. Media coverage and public opinion were strongly correlated. Specifi cally, negative coverage tends to have more agenda-setting effects than neutral and positive coverage.

A Biologically‐Architected Wear and Damage‐Resistant Nanoparticle Coating From the Radular Teeth of Cryptochiton stelleri

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

Enhancing Synaptic Plasticity and Multistate Retention of Organic Neuromorphic Devices Using Anion‐Excessive Gel Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐excessive gel‐based organic synaptic transistors (AEG‐OSTs) that can maintain electrical neutrality are developed to enhance synaptic plasticity and multistate retention. Key improvement is attributed to the maintenance of electrical neutrality in the electrolyte even after electrochemical doping, which reduces the Coulombic force acting on ...

Gold Nanoclusters as Dual Agents for Engineering Tumor Vascular Leakiness and Performing Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Many cancer nanotherapeutics, while potent, suffer from the inability to escape from the tumor vasculature, especially in the absence of endothelial permeability. In this work, ultrasmall gold nanoclusters could engineer nanomaterials induced endothelial leakiness (NanoEL) and harness strong NIR induced photothermal characteristics to suppress tumor ...
