Agent oriented software engineering with web applications

International Journal of Web Engineering and Technology, 2004
This paper proposes an agent oriented approach to design web applications. Contrary to other research work, this paper considers agents only at the conceptual level because they are convenient abstractions. In the implementation, agents are substituted by more adequate computational entities like Enterprise Java Beans or servlets.

Agent oriented software engineering for grid computing

Sixth IEEE International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid (CCGRID'06), 2006
Grid computing enables the sharing of resources across multi-institutional virtual organizations. Many of the software issues faced by grid computing systems bear semblance to issues that multi-agent system (MAS) researchers have grappled with in the last 20 years.

Agent-Oriented Software Engineering: The State of the Art

2001
Software engineers continually strive to develop tools and techniques to manage the complexity that is inherent in software systems. In this article, we argue that intelligent agents and multi-agent systems are just such tools. We begin by reviewing what is meant by the term "agent", and contrast agents with objects. We then go on to examine a number of

Agent-oriented software engineering

Proceedings of the second international joint conference on Autonomous agents and multiagent systems, 2003
The agent-oriented software engineering research community is advocating the agent-based approach for the design of distributed systems. But currently, there is a substantial gap between the massive number of publications reporting advantages of agents, and the relatively small number of successful large applications.

Formal Methods in Agent-Oriented Software Engineering

2011
There is a growing interest among agent and multiagent system developers for formal methods. Formal methods are means to define and realize correct specifications of multiagent system. The benefits of formal methods become clearer when we recognize the cost of developing a defective multiagent system.

Patterns in Agent-Oriented Software Engineering

2003
In this paper, I will show how the now popular concept of software patterns can be used in agent-oriented software engineering. To this end, I will present a possible structure of a pattern catalog for agent-oriented patterns and introduce a pattern description scheme that accounts for the specific needs of agent patterns.

Mobile Agent Oriented Software Engineering (MAOSE)

2004
Mobile agent (MA) has gained a lot of researchers’ interests for its outstanding superiorities. For a long time, it is regarded as a subsidiary subject of agent technique. Accordingly, people tend to develop MA-based system relying on the methodologies of Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE).

Contributions to the emergence and consolidation of Agent-oriented Software Engineering

Journal of Systems and Software, 2013
Many of the issues addressed with multi-agent approaches, such as distributed coordination and self-organization, are now becoming part of industrial and business systems. However, Multiagent Systems (MASs) are still not widely adopted in industry owing to the lack of a connection between MAS and software engineering.

Meta-modelling in Agent Oriented Software Engineering

2002
The MESSAGE methodology has shown that the application of meta-models in the development of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) facilitates the integration of current software engineering processes and the use of agent technology concepts in analysis and design activities.

Issues in Agent-Oriented Software Engineering

2001
In this paper, I will discuss the conceptual foundation of agentoriented software development by relating the fundamental elements of the agentoriented view to those of other, well established programming paradigms, especially the object-oriented approach.
