Stiffness of a recycled composite aggregate [PDF]
Abstract Recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) is a promising substitute for natural aggregates and the reuse of this demolished material would benefit the construction projects both economically and environmentally. A difficulty associated with the prediction of the behavior of RCA is because of its multi-composition which is linked to the grain size in

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Fractal and compositional analysis of soil aggregation
A soil aggregate is made of closely packed sand, silt, clay, and organic particles building up soil structure. Soil aggregation is a soil quality index integrating the chemical, physical, and biological processes involved in the genesis of soil structure and tilth.

Chaos in a Switched-Capacitor Circuit [PDF]
We report chaotic phenomena observed from a simple nonlinear switched-capacitor circuit. The experimentally measured bifurcation tree diagram reveals a period-doubling route to chaos. This circuit is described by a first-order discrete equation which can

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Interaction between Edge-Crack and Aggregate in Silicate-Based Composite
The paper deals with investigation of the interaction between an edge-crack and an aggregate in a silicate-based composite, because adding of aggregates into basic matrix material can improve the fracture mechanical properties of the material ...

Numerical Simulation of Concrete Mix Structure and Detection of its Elastic Stiffness [PDF]
Concrete mix stiffness (CM) primarily relies on its ingredients, which mainly consists of stone aggregate and mortar. To analyse the role of the components of CM on its properties a numerical simulation of CM structure is conducted.
