Smeared crack analysis for fracture and aggregate interlock in concrete

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1990
Abstract An incremental-iterative procedure for the nonlinear finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures is presented here. Solid concrete is modeled as a hypoelastic material, whilst cracked concrete (including fracture and aggregate interlock) is modeled with crack bands, according to the smeared crack approach.

Aggregate Interlock Role in R.C. Thin‐Webbed Beams in Shear

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1987
The aggregate interlock mechanism gives a substantial contribution to the shear resistance of reinforced or prestressed concrete thin-webbed beams, which are characterized by mostly linear, closely spaced, and thin diagonal cracks at the onset of shear failure.

A Constitutive Model for Aggregate Interlock Shear Based on Micromechanics

Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 1992
A new constitutive model for interface shear in concrete is presented. The composite is treated as a single-phase medium with no distinction in the strength difference between the matrix and the inclusions. The model consists of an assemblage of springs and a triangular asperity as a statistically equivalent replacement of the rough crack surfaces. The

Interlocking of β-carotene in beta-lactoglobulin aggregates produced under high pressure

Food Chemistry, 2013
Vitamin A deficiency is one of the major causes of mortality and morbidity in the developing World. This deficiency can be prevented by alimentary or pharmaceutical supplementation. However, both vitamin A oxidation and isomerization should be prevented, as these phenomenons result in loss of nutritional efficacy.

The shear friction aggregate interlock resistance across sliding planes in concrete

Magazine of Concrete Research, 2010
Shear friction or aggregate interlock behaviour across sliding planes in concrete is a well-established area of research used in numerical modelling and in the understanding of shear failure. Much of the research has been done on initially cracked planes.

Bender Elements Successfully Quantified Stiffness Enhancement Provided by Geogrid–Aggregate Interlock

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2017
Lateral restraint is a primary mechanism of geogrid base reinforcement contributing to the performance improvement of flexible pavements, and the interlocking between the geogrid and aggregate is responsible for stiffness enhancement in a zone formed around the geogrid.

ADDITION OF PET POWDER TO REPLACE FINE AGGREGATE IN INTERLOCKING FLOORS

Journal of Interdisciplinary Debates, 2023
The growing quest to reduce the impacts generated on the environment, the application of materials of alternative origin in civil construction increases and the need for companies to reduce costs through the recycling of materials that would be disposed of in the trash. One of these materials is PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a material with certain
