Aggregation‐Induced Emission: Recent Advances in Materials and Biomedical Applications

Angewandte Chemie - International Edition, 2020
The concept of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) has opened new opportunities in many research fields. Motivated by the unique feature of AIE fluorogens (AIEgens), during the past decade, many AIE molecular probes and AIE nanoparticle (NP) probes have ...

Aggregation-induced emission: phenomenon, mechanism and applications.

Chemical Communications, 2009
It is textbook knowledge that chromophore aggregation generally quenches light emission. In this feature article, we give an account on how we observed an opposite phenomenon termed aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and identified the restriction of intramolecular rotation as a main cause for the AIE effect.

High‐Efficiency Solid‐State Luminescence from Hydrophilic Carbon Dots with Aggregation‐Induced Emission Characteristics

Advanced Functional Materials, 2023
Carbon dots (CDs) have excellent properties and have made great progress in synthesis and applications. However, it is still a challenge to realize convenient preparation and highly emissive solid‐state luminescence without the assistance of matrix.

Aggregation‐Induced Emission‐Based Macrophage‐Like Nanoparticles for Targeted Photothermal Therapy and Virus Transmission Blockage in Monkeypox

Advances in Materials, 2023
The recent prevalence of monkeypox has led to the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Monkeypox lesions are typically ulcers or pustules (containing high titers of replication‐competent virus) in the skin and mucous ...
