Martini Indices, Fisher Indices, and Consistency-in-Aggregation [PDF]
In this article we consider the price and quantity indices introduced in the nineties by the Italian statistician Marco Martini (1944–2002). It turns out that Fisher indices can be considered as members of the infinite set of Martini indices. In particular attention is paid to the question to what extent these indices exhibit Consistency-in-Aggregation.

Consistent Aggregation with Superlative and Other Price Indices [PDF]
AbstractVarious fields of economic analysis (e.g. growth and productivity) and economic policy (e.g. monetary and social policy) rely on accurate measures of price change. Unfortunately, the price index formulae that most price statisticians consider as particularly accurate—the superlative indices of Fisher, Törnqvist, and Walsh—are believed to ...

A review of water quality index models and their use for assessing surface water quality
The water quality index (WQI) model is a popular tool for evaluating surface water quality. It uses aggregation techniques that allow conversion of extensive water quality data into a single value or index.

Three methods to measure parasite aggregation using examples from Australian fish parasites
The distribution of parasites in host populations is integral to simulations of parasite populations. We compared three methods to measure parasite aggregation, namely the Hoover, coefficient of variation and I10 indices, using field data from a range of

New indices to capture the evolution characteristics of urban expansion structure and form
A quantitative description is the basis for correctly understanding the urban expansion process. Previous approaches were dedicated to identifying expansion types based on the boundary sharing rate, thereby depicting the evolution of urban expansion ...

Aggregation of red blood cells (RBCs) varies substantially depending on changes of several factors such as hematocrit, membrane deformability, and plasma proteins. Among these factors, hematocrit has a strong influence on the aggregation of RBCs.

Primerjava izbranih krajinsko-ekoloških kazalcev za gozdove v dveh različnih krajinskih tipih
By analysing changes in landscape structure we can trace the influence they have on the evaluation of the diversity function of a forest. In the presented research, it was assessed which indices for computing areas, cores and aggregation tendencies that ...
