Quasi-two-dimensional Brownian dynamics simulations on the aggregation phenomena of a cubic magnetic particle suspension in a rotating magnetic field

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
In the present study, we have addressed a suspension composed of magnetic cubic particles in a rotating magnetic field by means of quasi-two-dimensional Brownian dynamics simulations in order to investigate the dependence of the regime change on a ...

Quasi-two-dimensional Monte Carlo simulations of a magnetic Janus particle suspension (A particle model with a laterally shifted dipole)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2023
I have addressed a magnetic Janus particle suspension in the thermodynamic equilibrium situation. The magnetic moment of Janus particles treated in the present study is shifted from the particle center, which is perpendicular to the magnetic moment ...

Quasi-two-dimensional Brownian dynamics simulations on the local internal structure of a cubic magnetic particle suspension in an alternating magnetic field

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
In the present study, we have addressed a dispersion composed of magnetic cubic particles in an alternating magnetic field to investigate the time change in the local internal structure of particle aggregates by means of quasi-two-dimensional Brownian ...

Quasi-two-dimensional Monte Carlo simulations of a polydisperse suspension composed of cubic hematite particles (For the case of no applied magnetic field)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2023
I have addressed a polydisperse suspension composed of cubic hematite particles in thermodynamic equilibrium. From the viewpoint of developing a surface modification technique using cubic hematite particles, I have investigated the local internal ...

Depletion attraction in colloidal and bacterial systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2023
Depletion attraction is a common entropy force observed in colloidal systems. As a common phenomenon in colloidal and bacterial systems, studying the mechanism and application of depletion attraction is of great value for controlling the state of ...

Universality of filamentous aggregation phenomena [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2019
We use perturbative renormalization group theory to study the kinetics of protein aggregation phenomena in a unified manner across multiple timescales. Using this approach, we find that, irrespective of the specific molecular details or experimental conditions, filamentous assembly systems display universal behavior in time.

Fuzzy-technique-based expert elicitation on the occurrence probability of severe accident phenomena in nuclear power plants

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2021
The objective of this study is to estimate the occurrence probabilities of severe accident phenomena based on a fuzzy elicitation technique. Normally, it is difficult to determine these probabilities due to the lack of information on severe accident ...

Effect of aggregation on adsorption phenomena [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2019
Adsorption at an attractive surface in a system with particles self-assembling into small clusters is studied by molecular dynamics simulation. We assume Lennard-Jones plus repulsive Yukawa tail interactions and focus on small densities. The relative increase in the temperature at the critical cluster concentration near the attractive surface (CCCS ...

Review on Anti-Aggregation-Enabled Colorimetric Sensing Applications of Gold and Silver Nanoparticles

open access: yesChemosensors, 2022
Gold- and silver nanoparticles (Au NPs and Ag NPs)-based colorimetric detection of specific analytes has attracted intense research interest and is still in great demand. The majority of Au NPs- and Ag NPs-based sensory reports have revealed that, during

Application of the Lattice Boltzmann Method to Many Particle Dispersions

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
We have discussed the feasibility of the lattice Boltzmann method as a simulation technique with multi-body hydrodynamic interactions for many particle dispersions.
