SAXS investigation on aggregation phenomena in supercritical CO2

The European Physical Journal E, 2002
Synchrotron Small-Angle X-Ray scattering (SAXS) measurements on aggregate formation of a Polyvinyl acetate- b-Perfluoro octyl acrylate (PVAc- b-PFOA) block copolymer in supercritical CO(2) are here reported. Experiments were carried out for a series of different thermodynamic conditions, changing the solvent density by profiling both the pressure at ...

Statistical physics models of aggregation phenomena

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1997
Summary: Aggregation phenomena of elementary particles into clusters is one of the most fascinating and challenging problems of statistical physics. Here we adopt a stochastic approach for the modelling of these phenomena. More precisely, we formulate the problem as follows (which we shall refer to as the `cavity' method): given a population of \(N ...

Aggregation Phenomena in Water-in-Oil Emulsions

Langmuir, 1996
We report the phase behavior of monodisperse water-in-oil emulsion droplets. We show that depending upon the droplet size, the surfactant concentration within the continuous oil phase, the chemical nature of the oil, and the temperature, the emulsion droplets may remain dispersed or reversibly aggregated.

Wetting phenomena and colloidal aggregation in binary mixtures

Physical Review A, 1990
Recent experiments on colloidal suspensions of silica spheres in a water-lutidine mixture close to the consolute point have revealed interesting sphere-aggregation behavior that has been linked to wetting phenomena. We carry out a theoretical analysis of the phase behavior in such mixtures and suggest that the observed behavior is consistent with ...

Nanoscale Studies on Aggregation Phenomena in Nanofluids

2018
Understanding the microscopic dispersion and aggregation of nanoparticles at nanoscale media has become an important challenge during the last decades. Nanoscale modeling techniques are the important tools to tackle many of the complex problems faced by engineers and scientists.

Sugar surfactants — aggregation, interfacial, and adsorption phenomena

Current Opinion in Colloid & Interface Science, 2001
The latest research work provides us with basic knowledge about some selected properties of systems containing sugar surfactants. Now we are able to understand the behavior of aqueous solutions reasonably well and very recently progress was made with respect to the properties of microemulsions.

Rate Equation Approach to Aggregation Phenomena

1986
A general qualitative theory for the mean-field rate equation describing aggregation processes is described. Various exponents describing the cluster-size distribution and its time evolution are derived. It is found that this theory frequently gives a good account of systems with more realistic kinetics, such as cluster-cluster aggregation, but that ...
