To aggregate or not to aggregate – Is it a matter of the ribosome?

open access: yesBioEssays, 2023
AbstractNeurodegenerative syndromes present as proteinopathies – does ribosomal infidelity contribute to the protein toxicity that is the driving force for neuronal cell loss? Intracellular and extracellular protein aggregates overwhelm the clearance capacity of cells and tissues. Proteins aggregate when hydrophobic residues are exposed.

Ad Hoc Multi-Input Functional Encryption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Consider sources that supply sensitive data to an aggregator. Standard encryption only hides the data from eavesdroppers, but using specialized encryption one can hope to hide the data (to the extent possible) from the aggregator itself.

M2M Access With Dynamic Cognitive Virtual Operators: A Data Aggregator’s Perspective

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, an aggregator-assisted model for machine-to-machine (M2M) communications is proposed. The data aggregator plays the role of a third party that transmits aggregated M2M data to a cognitive operator, which does not own the radio spectrum but

Consumer Psychology Based Optimal Portfolio Design for Demand Response Aggregators

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2021
Demand response (DR) has received much attention for its ability to balance the changing power supply and demand with flexibility. DR aggregators play an important role in aggregating flexible loads that are too small to participate in electricity ...

Control of Multiple Remote Servers for Quality-Fair Delivery of Multimedia Contents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper proposes a control scheme for the quality-fair delivery of several encoded video streams to mobile users sharing a common wireless resource. Video quality fairness, as well as similar delivery delays are targeted among streams.

Position-Based Aggregator Node Election in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2010
We introduce PANEL a position-based aggregator node election protocol for wireless sensor networks. The novelty of PANEL with respect to other aggregator node election protocols is that it supports asynchronous sensor network applications where the ...
