Host galaxy properties of radio selected AGN [PDF]
AbstractWith the goal of investigating the link between black hole (BH) and star formation (SF) activity, we study a deep sample of radio selected star forming galaxies (SFGs) and active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Using a multi-wavelength approach we characterize their host galaxies properties (stellar masses, optical colors, and morphology).

Active Galactic Nuclei in the Green Valley at z ∼ 0.7
We present near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy using the MMT and Magellan infrared spectrograph for a sample of 29 massive galaxies ( $\mathrm{log}\ {M}_{* }/{M}_{\odot }\gtrsim 10$ ) at z ∼ 0.7 with optical spectroscopy from the Large Early Galaxy ...

PRIMUS: The relationship between Star formation and AGN accretion
We study the evidence for a connection between active galactic nuclei (AGN) fueling and star formation by investigating the relationship between the X-ray luminosities of AGN and the star formation rates (SFRs) of their host galaxies.

Probing extreme black‐hole outflows on short timescales via high spectral‐resolution x‐ray imagers
Abstract We investigate outflows and the physics of super‐Eddington versus sub‐Eddington regimes in black hole systems. Our focus is on prospective science using next‐generation high‐resolution soft x‐ray instruments. We highlight the properties of black hole ultraluminous x‐ray source (ULX) systems in particular. Owing to scale invariance in accreting

In this manuscript, clues are provided to support globally negative active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback on star formation in the host galaxies of the local low-redshift Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Type 2 AGN, based on the different dependence of ...

Chemical Evolution of the Universe and its Consequences for Gravitational‐Wave Astrophysics
Population properties of double compact object mergers (especially binary black holes) are sensitive to the metallicity dependent cosmic star formation history. The uncertainty of this quantity cannot be ignored and makes the interpretation of current gravitational wave observations difficult.

Galaxies Lighting Up: Discovery of Seventy New Turn-on Changing-look Active Galactic Nuclei
“Changing-look active galactic nuclei” (CL AGN) show dramatic, rapid changes in optical/UV continuum and broad-line emission. The majority of CL AGN have been found dimming as “turn-off” CL AGN because most selection methods start from samples of ...

The Accuracy of Morphological Decomposition of Active Galactic Nucleus Host Galaxies
In order to assess the accuracy with which we can determine the morphologies of AGN host galaxies, we have simulated more than 50,000 ACS images of galaxies with z < 1.25, using image and noise properties appropriate for the GOODS survey.
