Distribution of Oikopleura Dioica (Tunicata, Appendicularia) associated with a coastal frontal system (39°- 41°s) of the SW Atlantic ocean in the spawning area of Engraulis Anchoita anchovy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Among tunicates, the small planktonic appendicularians generally comprise a significant fraction of the mesozooplankton in frontal systems. The summer 2011 distribution (vertical and spatial) of Oikopleura dioica was studied in terms of abundance ...

Análisis ambiental de la transferencia de tecnología en espacios demostrativos de agricultura urbana

open access: yesAgricultura Sociedad y Desarrollo, 2022
En agricultura urbana, parte de la transferencia de tecnología se realiza mediante talleres de capacitación en espacios demostrativos. Debido a la heterogeneidad de actores, es necesario generar estrategias de transferencia que se ajusten a las ...

The Dietary Intervention of Transgenic Low-Gliadin Wheat Bread in Patients with Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) Showed No Differences with Gluten Free Diet (GFD) but Provides Better Gut Microbiota Profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The study evaluated the symptoms, acceptance, and digestibility of bread made from transgenic low-gliadin wheat, in comparison with gluten free bread, in Non-coeliac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) patients, considering clinical/sensory parameters and gut ...

Functional Forms for the Squeeze and the Time-Displacement Operators [PDF]

open access: yesQuant.Semiclass.Opt. 8 (1996) 1061, 1996
Using Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff relations, the squeeze and harmonic-oscillator time-displacement operators are given in the form $\exp[\delta I] \exp[\alpha (x^2)]\exp[\beta(x\partial)] \exp[\gamma (\partial)^2]$, where $\alpha$, $\beta$, $\gamma$, and $\delta$ are explicitly determined. Applications are discussed.

Multivariate Bayesian Analysis of On‐Farm Trials with Multiple‐Trait and Multiple‐Environment Data

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 111, Issue 6, Page 2658-2669, November–December 2019., 2019
Multivariate analysis is preferred over univariate analysis in plant breeding studies because it can exploit correlated traits and environments, whereas Bayesian analysis provides a natural way to incorporate prior knowledge and inferences that are conditional on the observed data. The objective of this paper is to show how to use multivariate Bayesian

Training Population Optimization for Genomic Selection

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 12, Issue 3, November 2019., 2019
Core Ideas Training populations can be optimized for specific testing populations. Optimized training populations are smaller, more related, and more predictive. Stratified sampling with a relationship matrix weighted by marker effect is optimal. The effectiveness of genomic selection in breeding programs depends on the phenotypic quality and depth ...

Increased intestinal carbonate precipitate abundance in the sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) in response to ocean acidification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Marine fish contribute to the carbon cycle by producing mineralized intestinal precipitates generated as by-products of their osmoregulation. Here we aimed at characterizing the control of epithelial bicarbonate secretion and intestinal precipitate ...

On improving a Schur-type theorem in shifted primes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We show that if $N \geq \exp(\exp(\exp (k^{O(1)})))$, then any $k$-colouring of the primes that are less than $N$ contains a monochromatic solution to $p_1 - p_2 = p_3 -1$.

Vertebrate diversity and biomass along a recovery gradient in a lowland tropical forest

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 57, Issue 1, January 2025.
Deforestation of tropical forests has resulted in large areas of secondary forests with the potential for biodiversity to re‐establish to levels usually found in old‐growth forests. This study shows that diversity and biomass of mammals and birds in regenerating forests can recover to old‐growth levels within a relatively short time.
