Degradation efficiency of agricultural biogas plants – A full-scale study

Bioresource Technology, 2015
The degradation efficiency of 21 full-scale agricultural CSTR biogas plants was investigated. The residual methane potential of the digestion stages was determined in batch digestion tests (20.0 and 37.0 °C). The results of this study showed that the residual methane yield is significantly correlated to the HRT (r=-0.73). An almost complete degradation

The effect of substrate on the amount and composition of biogas in agricultural biogas plant

Infrastruktura i Ekologia Terenów Wiejskich / Infrastructure and ecology of rural areas, 2015
Construction of biogas plants processing agricultural waste enables to reduce waste, limit emission of gases and odors in rural areas as well as gives the possibility to ensure self-sufficiency of energy. The amount of generated electricity and heat depends on the quantity and quality of biogas.

Laboratory Simulation of an Agricultural Biogas Plant Start‐up

Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2018
AbstractDue to the large energy potential of biofuel production, in the near future the construction of new biogas plants in Poland is expected. However, prior to any investment in the biogas market it is necessary to conduct performance tests of methane production from the used substrates and to perform simulation of the initial start‐up on a ...

Biodrying of the Digestate from Agricultural Biogas Plants

Annual Set The Environment Protection, 2015
Anaerobic digestion residue represents a nutrient rich resource which, if applied back on land, can reduce the use of mineral fertilizers and improve soil fertility. However, dewatering of digestate may be recommended in certain situation. Limited applicability of digestate as fertilizer may appear, especially in winter, during the vegetation period or

Processing of Digested Pulp from Agricultural Biogas Plant

2019
In the European Union, renewable energy sources (RES) constitute an important alternative to fossil fuels. Solid biomass is mainly used for the production of renewable energy. One of the RES types is the production of agricultural biogas as a result of the anaerobic digestion process (AD). This process generates biogas and digestate. The second product
