Analisis Pola Kekeringan Lahan Pertanian Di Kabupaten Kendal Dengan Menggunakan Algoritma Thermal Vegetation Index Dari Citra Satelit Modis Terra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Kendal is one of the areas affected by drought. Threat of drought due to climate influences can not be avoided but the impact can be minimized if the pattern of drought in a region may be known. One way that used by using the application of remote sensing

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Genome-Wide Identification, Expression Profile and Evolution Analysis of Importin α Gene Family in Glycine max

open access: yesAgronomy
Importin α (IMPα) proteins are key mediators of nucleocytoplasmic transport and play crucial roles in plant development and stress adaptation. Here, we performed a genome-wide identification of the IMPα gene family in Glycine max, followed by gene ...

The impact of agricultural extension on farm production in resettlement areas of Zimbabwe [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we revisit the contested issue of the impact of agricultural extension on farm production. We exploit two features of the data available to us: its longitudinal nature and explicit measures of farmer ability. We find that after controlling

Real‐time monitoring of root dielectric properties for assessing crop plant damage caused by foliar application of glyphosate

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise There is a knowledge gap regarding how foliar injury and restricted water uptake can be detected by measuring root dielectric response. This pot study nondestructively evaluated the efficiency of real‐time dielectric measurement to monitor the effects of glyphosate spraying.

The Drought Monitor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
There is a need for improved drought monitoring and assessment methods in the United States. Drought is the most costly natural disaster [Federal Emergency Management Agancy (FEMA 1995; Wilhite 2000)], but it is often neglected by developers of ...

Effects of Replacing Alfalfa Hay With Barley Silage in High‐Concentrate Diets: Chewing Behavior, Ruminal Fermentation, Total‐Tract Digestibility, and Milk Production of Dairy Cows in Mid‐Lactation Phase

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
We assessed lactation productivity in dairy cows when replacing alfalfa hay with barley silage. A 50% replacement increased feed intake, whereas total replacement improved nutrient conversion to milk. Barley silage can effectively replace alfalfa hay, enhancing sustainability and resilience in dairy production amid forage quality constraints and market

Initial soil moisture conditions dominate variation in event-scale propagation time from meteorological to agricultural drought

open access: yesAgricultural Water Management
Agricultural drought, typically triggered by meteorological drought, poses a significant threat to crop production and regional water resources. Understanding the propagation from meteorological to agricultural drought is therefore crucial for improving ...

The persistence of drought impacts across growing seasons: a dynamic stochastic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Agricultural producers throughout much of the United States experienced one of the most severe droughts in the last 100 years during the years 1999-2006.

Irrigation-Yield Production Functions and Irrigation Water Use Effciency Response of Drought-Tolerant and Non-Drought-Tolerant Maize Hybrids under Different Irrigation Levels, Population Densities, and Environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Irrigation-yield production functions (IYPFs), irrigation water use effciency (IWUE), and grain production per unit of applied irrigation of non-drought-tolerant (NDT) and drought-tolerant (DT) maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids were quantified in four ...
