Revision of the Agrilus occipitalis species–group (Coleoptera, Buprestidae, Agrilini)

open access: yesZooKeys, 2013
The Agrilus occipitalis species–group is redefined and diagnosed. Two species from this group, A. auriventris Saunders, 1873 and A. occipitalis (Eschscholtz, 1822), are known as the serious pests of cultivated Citrus trees.

Exploring pest population dynamics using the economic entomology modeling activity

open access: yesNatural Sciences Education, Volume 55, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Motivated by the increasing demand for data‐driven pest management approaches, the economic entomology modeling activity (EEMA), an Excel‐based interactive teaching tool, aims to introduce students to the complexities of modeling ecological factors in applied systems.

Current Distribution and Diagnostic Features of Two Potentially Invasive Asian Buprestid Species: Agrilus mali Matsumura and A. fleischeri Obenberger (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

open access: yesInsects, 2020
Our goal is to analyze the known geographical ranges and diagnostic features of two potentially invasive Asian buprestid species: the quarantine apple tree pest, Agrilus mali Matsumura, and the poplar pest A. fleischeri Obenberger.

Characterisation and In Planta Activity of Bacteriophages That Infect the Key Bacterial Species Associated With Acute Oak Decline

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
Phages that infect the oak pathogens Brenneria goodwinii and Gibbsiella quercinecans were isolated. The phages were able to effectively reduce bacterial populations of their respective hosts in vitro. However, when applied in planta, the phages did not reduce host populations and instead phages and bacteria co‐existed over time.
