Photoredox Decarboxylative 3‐Fluoroallylation of α‐Amino Acids

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An efficient, photocatalytic method for the decarboxylative 3‐fluoroallylation of α‐amino acids has been developed to produce fluorinated homoallylamines. A broad reaction scope is reported, including the use of dipeptides and different protecting groups on nitrogen.

Synthesis of 2‐Fluoropyrroles via [4 + 1] Cycloaddition of α,β‐Unsaturated Imines with In Situ‐Generated Difluorocarbene

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
2‐Fluoropyrroles are synthesized via the [4 + 1] cycloaddition of α,β‐unsaturated imines with difluorocarbene, generated in situ from trimethylsilyl 2,2‐difluoro‐2‐(fluorosulfonyl)acetate (TFDA). The α,β‐unsaturated imines are treated with TFDA in the presence of a Proton Sponge catalyst.

General and Anti‐Markovnikov Selective Ni‐Catalyzed Alkylation of Arenes and Heteroarenes with Non‐Activated Olefins

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A convenient and scalable Ni‐catalyzed anti‐Marovnikov hydroaryation non‐functionalized olefins has been developed. The majority of C–C coupling reactions between arenes and olefins result in the formation of branched isomer products, exhibiting what is known as Markovnikov selectivity. However, alternative catalytic strategies are required to modulate
