Abstract Different types of controlled release formulations of pesticides for application in fresh water systems has been developed. Release mechanisms and rates of some selected herbicides from ethylenevinylacetate copolymer (EVA) formulations, calcium alginate formulations and wettable powders as conventional control were studied.
