On the Course of the Agulhas Current
South African Geographical Journal, 1983Abstract Temperature sections across the Agulhas Current between 28°30’s and 34°S are analysed to determine the course of the Current down the East Coast of southern Africa. The results show that, on average, the Agulhas follows the continental slope with a side-ways meandering displacement of 10-15 km on either side.

2019This presentation focuses on the oceanic circulation over the Agulhas Bank, which is the continental shelf region located at the southern tip of the African continent. Information on the plankton of the Agulhas Bank has always been scarce and sporadic. We had to rely on occasional collections made at a small number of stations by passing expedition ships. A regular exploration of the Bank from a planktological point of view has never been attempted.
