A Comparative Analysis of the Effects of Cardioversion and Ablation on Anxiety, Sleep, and Quality of Life in Patients Diagnosed With Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
In patients with atrial fibrillation, both catheter ablation and electrical cardioversion improved quality of life. Cardioversion was associated with greater short‐term reductions in anxiety and sleep disturbances, highlighting the importance of considering patient‐reported outcomes alongside rhythm‐control strategies. ABSTRACT Background and Aims This

Virtual Reality Externalization (VR‐E) for Patients With Eating Disorders: A Pilot Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, Volume 59, Issue 6, Page 1321-1329, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Despite significant health and psychosocial impairments, many individuals with eating disorders (ED) view their disorder as an integral part of their identity. Because this “ego‐syntonicity” is associated with low treatment motivation and treatment dropouts, we investigated the acceptability, feasibility, and effects of a newly ...

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Following Head and Neck Chemoradiation: A Scoping Review With Exploratory Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 6, Page 1587-1594, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) may contribute to fatigue in head and neck cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, particularly as both have the potential to impact the mechanics and dynamics of the airway.

Sleep Apnea and Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation: Diurnal Patterning of Autonomic Dysfunction and Influence of CPAP Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Autonomic dysfunction in sleep apnea shows diurnal variation, with stronger associations between SDB severity and HRV during wakefulness than sleep. CPAP therapy induces complex, state‐dependent changes in HRV, suggesting that daytime autonomic alterations may better reflect sustained cardiovascular risk in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
