Transport mechanisms inside the turbulent wake of a bluff body [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Based on the recent work of Stella et al. on the bidimensional (2D) flow behind a ramp [11, 10], the present paper aims at analysing the entrainment phenomenon in a three-dimensional (3D) turbulent wake downstream of a bluff-body.

On the need for a nonlinear subscale turbulence term in POD models as exemplified for a high Reynolds number flow over an Ahmed body

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate a hierarchy of eddy-viscosity terms in POD Galerkin models to account for a large fraction of unresolved fluctuation energy. These Galerkin methods are applied to Large Eddy Simulation data for a flow around the vehicle-like bluff body ...

Flow properties of an Ahmed Body with different passive flow control methods

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi
A numerical simulation by utilizing the FloEFD software was carried out in order to investigate the flow topology formed on slant surface and wake region of an Ahmed Body with and without passive flow control techniques.

Investigation of relationship between drag and lift coefficients for a generic car model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The paper presents a study of aerodynamic characteristics of a car, which has the simplified geometric shape, so called Ahmed body. Flow around the body and the influence of its rear slant angle on drag are widely studied by numerous researchers. However,

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Delayed-Onset Retrobulbar Hemorrhage and Glaucoma Drainage Device Extrusion in a Patient on Anticoagulation: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2020
Both retrobulbar hemorrhage and plate extrusion are uncommon complications after implantation of a glaucoma drainage device (GDD). There are no published reports on extrusion of an Ahmed glaucoma valve after delayed-onset retrobulbar hemorrhage in Korea.
