Allergic Sensitization to Inhalant Allergens in the Upper Respiratory Tract—the B Cell Side

Venous thromboembolism risk following surgery during the COVID‐19 pandemic
Summary Introduction SARS‐CoV‐2 infection is associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism. Data are lacking on how this risk altered during the COVID‐19 pandemic and following vaccination. We aimed to evaluate the 90‐day risk of postoperative venous thromboembolism during the pandemic. Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study of

Cesarean delivery with general anesthesia was associated with a modestly increased risk of autism in offspring compared to vaginal delivery while cesarean delivery with neuraxial anesthesia was not. Similar findings were seen across different surgery types and ethnic groups, suggesting that general anesthesia may be relevant to autism risk.

The magnitude of the increased risk for preterm birth after UTI diagnosis is dependent of the gestational week at diagnosis, with a significantly higher risk if the UTI diagnosis occurred in early‐mid pregnancy compared to episodes towards term. The increased risk was highest 0–6 days after UTI diagnosis, thereafter it declined but remained significant
