Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Air-Coupled Ultrasound Transduction Improvement Using Vertical Piezoelements’ Array

Novel transducer construction is proposed: array of PVDF film strips placed parallel to each other with air gaps between. Films are oriented in such way that strip extension (31 mode) is aligned with emission direction. Transduction is improved by providing better acoustic impedance match to air and increased displacement of emitting surface.
