Air-Q laryngeal airway for rescue and tracheal intubation

Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, 2016
We report the successful use of the Air-Q laryngeal airway (Air-Q LA) as a ventilatory device and a conduit for tracheal intubation to rescue the airway in a patient with difficult airway and tracheal stenosis. This is the first case report of the device to secure the airway after two episodes of hypoxemia in the operating room and intensive care unit.

Prospective evaluation of the self‐pressurized air‐Q intubating laryngeal airway in children

Pediatric Anesthesia, 2011
SummaryObjectives:  To assess the clinical efficacy of the self‐pressurized air‐Q ILA™ (ILA‐SP).Aim:  The purpose of this prospective audit was to evaluate the feasibility of the ILA‐SP in clinical practice and generate data for future comparison trials. Background:  The ILA‐SP is a new first‐generation supraglottic airway for children with a self ...

Intubating laryngeal mask airway and air-Q for blind tracheal intubation

Research and Opinion in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, 2015
Background Airway management remains an important problem in the practice of anesthesia. The present study was carried out to compare intubating laryngeal mask airway (ILMA) and air-Q for blind tracheal intubation during surgical procedures under general anesthesia.

[Difficult airway management using the air-Q in a patient with Klippel-Feil syndrome].

Masui. The Japanese journal of anesthesiology, 2014
Patients with Klippel-Feil syndrome (KFS) frequently encounter difficult airway management due to skeletal abnormalities, including fusion of two or more vertebrae and short neck. We report successful tracheal intubation using the air-Q supraglottic airway device (air-Q).

CobraPLUS and Cookgas air-Q versus Fastrach for blind endotracheal intubation: a randomised controlled trial

European Journal of Anaesthesiology, 2011
CobraPLUS and Cookgas air-Q are supraglottic airways expected to allow safe ventilation as well as reliable blind intubation. In a prospective, controlled trial, we hypothesised that quality of ventilation and success rate of blind endotracheal intubation of these new devices would be superior to the Fastrach intubating laryngeal mask airway (ILMA ...
