Recurrent laryngeal nerve injury associated with Air-Q

open access: yesSri Lankan Journal of Anaesthesiology, 2017
We report a case of 55-year-old patient who presented for internal fixation of fractured shaft of humerus, tibia and fibula on the right side. Airway was secured with air- Q size 3.5 at the first attempt. Cuff was inflated with 15ml air in accordance with the manufacturer’s labelled recommendation.

Comparison of three supraglottic airway devices for blind tracheal intubation by novice practitioners: A randomized manikin study

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Emergency Medicine
OBJECTIVES: Supraglottic airway (SGA) devices are good alternatives for failed intubations or difficult airways. The aim of our study was to compare the success of intubation with SGA devices such as LMA Fastrach® (LMA Fastrach), Ambu Aura-i® (Aura-i ...

Pediatric supraglottic airway devices in clinical practice: A prospective observational study [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2017
Background Supraglottic airway devices (SGA) are commonly used in pediatric anesthesia and serve as primary or back-up devices for difficult airway management. Most SGA are marketed without proper clinical evaluation.

A two-stage approach to induction and intubation of two infants with Pierre Robin Sequence using a LMA Classic™ and Air-Q®: two cases report [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology, 2016
The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) Classic™ and Air-Q® are supralaryngeal devices used for airway management in routine and difficult pediatric airways. We describe a novel two-stage technique of insertion of the LMA Classic™ awake prior to induction of ...

A comparison between ProSeal laryngeal mask airway and Air-Q Blocker in patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

open access: yesJ Anaesthesiol Clin Pharmacol, 2019
ProSeal laryngeal mask airway (PLMA) is an established device for airway management, while Air-Q Blocker (AQB) is a relatively new supraglottic device. The aim of this study is to compare AQB against PLMA in adults undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia.Eighty-eight adult patients scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy ...

Blind Federated Learning via Over-the-Air q-QAM

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications
In this work, we investigate federated edge learning over a fading multiple access channel. To alleviate the communication burden between the edge devices and the access point, we introduce a pioneering digital over-the-air computation strategy employing q-ary quadrature amplitude modulation, culminating in a low latency communication scheme.

Awake bronchoscopic intubation through an air-Q® with the application of BIPAP [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Anesthesia/Journal canadien d'anesthésie, 2012
To the Editor, Awake tracheal intubation is recommended for patients with a known or suspected difficult airway. A supraglottic airway device has been used as a conduit for awake intubation with a flexible bronchoscope. We describe an awake bronchoscope-guided tracheal intubation through an air-Q intubating laryngeal airway (air-Q , Mercury Medical ...
