Air-core induction-coil magnetometer design

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1982
This paper discusses the theory of optimising an induction-coil magnetometer and the realisation problem. The optimisation is based on a simple magnetic model of the source, an induction coil and a current-to-voltage converter. The electric models and characteristic equations needed for the optimisation procedure have been derived from prevailing ...

The boost converter with air core coil

Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2014
This paper deals about the possibility of using air coils in boost converters, which is useful within the range of frequencies from 200kHz to 1MHz when the transmitted power is in hundreds of kilowatts. The article also analyzes the activity of boost converter - it deals with the demands placed on the converter's coil magnetic circuit and the ...

Transient Simulations of an Air-Coil SFCL

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2014
Simulations of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL) devices become more crucial in order to predict their behavior before installing them into power systems. There are different approaches for modeling SFCLs, whereas computational simulations provide a better understanding of the behavior of SFCL devices.

Magnetic Force Calculation between Thin Circular Coils and Thin Filamentary Circular Coil in Air

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2007
This paper presents new and fast procedures for calculating magnetic forces between thin circular coaxial coils in air. The results, obtained analytically, are expressed in terms of the complete elliptical integrals of the first and second kind and Heuman's Lambda function.

Coiled Tube Air Heater Test Loop Design

Volume 9: Student Paper Competition, 2017
Coiled tube air heaters (CTAH) are heat exchangers currently under investigation at the University of California, Berkeley for application to Reheat Air-Brayton Combined Cycles (RACC). In a CTAH, molten fluoride salt on the tube side heats air on the shell side in a cross-counterflow arrangement, leading to high heat exchange effectiveness, while the ...

Wireless sensing of open loop micro coils using an air core helical coil

International Multi-Conference on Systems, Sygnals & Devices, 2012
In this paper we report here remote sensing of open loop micro coil parameters using an air core helical coil. Test micro coil is inductive coupled in the near electromagnetic field by placing it inside the air core helical coil and measuring the wirelessly reflected impedance signal.

Air Embolism During Coiling Procedure

2019
A 48-year-old male presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage (Fig. 51.1a). He was clinically well preserved. DSA and 3D angiography revealed a dissecting aneurysm of right vertebral artery (Fig. 51.1b, c). Left vertebral artery was also dissected with almost complete occlusion (not shown). The case was planned for stent-assisted coiling.
