Dynamics of coil defrosting in supersaturated freezer air

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2002
When humid air is exposed to a cold surface whose temperature is below both the dew-point temperature of water vapour in air and the freezing point, frost will form. If the amount of moisture present in the air is larger than the amount that the air can carry at the prevailing air temperature, supersaturated conditions will exist.

Broadband Air-Core Brooks-Coil Induction Magnetometer

2006 SICE-ICASE International Joint Conference, 2006
Frequency compensation technique to be implemented in an optimal design method of air-core Brooks-coil induction magnetometer is presented. It is confirmed that the capacitance of a cable between coil and electronics defines the limitation of upper frequency.

Air-coil design using numerical optimization methods

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1980
The Gauss-Levenberg optimization method is applied to the problem of finding the positions of the wires of a coil that produces a flat-topped Butterworth-like axial magnetic field distribution. Examples are shown for coils formed from infinite straight wires and circular loops.

Corrosion of Copper Coils in Air Conditioning Equipment

Materials Performance, 2013
Atmospheric corrosion affects the brazed unions of copper tubing in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, causing maintenance problems. A a result, refrigerant gases are emitted directly into the atmosphere and adversely affect the environment.

Design and Manufacturing of Air Conditioning Coil

Research Journal of Engineering and Technology
This paper consists of the detail design process of a cooling coil which is used in Evaporator of VARC System for given cooling load. The process consists of designing a part using the calculation and various other parameters. The stability of long-term materials is becoming increasingly important as the demand for air conditioning systems in ...

Single-Coil Twin-Fan Air-Conditioning and Air-Distribution System—Toward Development of a Mathematical Model of the Compartmented Coil

HVAC&R Research, 2006
A new air-conditioning and air-distribution system, called the single-coil twin-fan system, that provides both energy efficiency and good indoor air quality was developed. It employs a unique compartmented cooling and dehumidifying coil that is fundamental in realizing the significant benefits of the system by being able to treat the outdoor air and ...

Stator coil insulation for modern air-cooled generators

Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Conference (Cat. No.01CH37264), 2002
Stator coils in modern air cooled generators are subject to high electrical, mechanical, and thermal stress. In addition, operation in the air environment doesn't offer the dielectric advantages of operating in high pressure hydrogen. These three insulation stress factors are well known and for the most part understood with respect to the factors taken

Magnetic Field Configurations Due to Air Core Coils

Journal of Applied Physics, 1947
The field configurations around a circular loop of wire bearing current are discussed, and a tabulation is presented for the field component parallel to the axis of the loop. Formulae are derived for the current distribution which must obtain in cylindrical and ellipsoidal coils in order that the field inside be uniform. Several special cases are noted.

Theoretical Impedance Calculation Method for Air‐Core Coils

IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Coils are designed to have impedance characteristics appropriate for any use of the sensors, analog circuits and so on. The impedance characteristics of a coil depends on the coil shape and used materials, and these factors make coil design difficult.
