Enhancement of air-flow management in Zn-air fuel cells by the optimization of air-flow parameters

Energy, 2020
Abstract An attempt to reveal the effects of air-flow factors on the discharge performance of zinc (Zn)-air fuel cell (ZAFC) was performed in this study. Oxygen in the air was the active material reacting with Zn during reduction and also was an effective cathode fuel.

Dysphagia and expiratory air flow

Dysphagia, 1993
Expiratory air flow preserves the freedom of the upper airway from foodway contamination in patients with dysphagia. Valving the tracheostomy cannula, "quad coughing," the Heimlich maneuver, the "supraglottic swallow," and coupling to a ventilator each has a place among the measures used for treating aspiration.

Flow seeding with an air nebulizer

Experiments in Fluids, 1999
In the framework of studies on anemometric measurements or tomographic visualizations, the seeding of a reactive flow by a nebulizer has been analyzed. In order to determine the performances of this apparatus, different liquids have been tested to evaluate the influence of their physical properties on the droplets size distribution.

Laminar Flow Air: A Comparison of Operating Room Air Purity in Rooms Equipped with Laminar Flow Air Versus No Laminar Flow Air

American Journal of Infection Control, 2007
ISSUE: Until 2003 CDC recommended Laminar Air flow in the Operating Rooms where Joint Replacement surgeries were performed. In 2003 this recommendation was eliminated. However, at our hospital knee replacements are continuing to be performed in laminar air flow rooms only.

Air Flow

The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1932
Aircraft engineering has been described as “ordinary engineering made more difficult.” Probably most of you will agree that our difficulties are often greater than those that confront other branches of the engineering profession, and that the chief source of them is our inability to forecast with entire confidence what air will do under any given ...

A Sensor Node Driven by Air Flow

2017 New Generation of CAS (NGCAS), 2017
The growth of the IoT infrastructure requires the development of new devices able to harvest energy from the environment to power Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) nodes. Among the available sources (light, mechanical vibrations, temperature differences...), air flow can represent a good choice in many cases: we consider not only a natural wind, but also ...

Robust Control Of Air-Flow In Air-Heating Set

ECMS 2013 Proceedings edited by: Webjorn Rekdalsbakken, Robin T. Bye, Houxiang Zhang, 2013
The paper deals with the robust control of air-flow in air-heating set. The identification is perrfomred using step responses and approximation via second order system. The controller is designed using the structured singular value (SSV or μ) and algebraic approach.
