Modified MXene Aerogel With Broadband Microwave Absorption Inspired by Melanophila Acuminata Beetle
This work introduces a novel biomimetic strategy inspired by the infrared‐sensing sensilla of the Melanophila acuminata beetle. We have designed a multi‐level aerogel, featuring a three‐dimensional carbon framework decorated with synergistic CeO2 nanoparticles and Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets.

Structural Colors from Modulated Topological Defects in Molecular Smectic Liquid Crystals
Rather than using dyes and pigments, nature produces the colors of some butterflies and beetles through optical interference phenomena. This study describes an original biomimetic strategy exploiting the spontaneous formation of modulated linear defects in thin films of 8CB, a common molecular liquid crystal.

Plant‐based nanomaterials derived from alfalfa serve as dual‐function catalysts, coupling photodegradation and phytoremediation to degrade polyethylene under UV‐A light and in soil. A physics‐aware machine‐learning framework enables inverse design of ultra‐open acoustic silencers by decoupling spectral and radial design spaces. The approach rapidly identifies broadband, compact, and highly ventilated architectures, while revealing hidden linear design rules that link geometry, impedance matching, and acoustic performance.
