Analysis of retrofit air source heat pump performance : results from detailed simulations and comparison to field trial data [PDF]
In the UK, gas boilers are the predominant energy source for heating in housing, due primarily to the ready availability of natural gas. The take-up of heat pumps has lagged far behind Europe and North America.

Performance assessment of tariff-based air source heat pump load shifting in a UK detached dwelling featuring phase change-enhanced buffering [PDF]
Using a detailed building simulation model, the amount of thermal buffering, with and without phase change material (PCM), needed to time-shift an air source heat pump's operation to off-peak periods, as defined by the UK 'Economy 10' tariff, was ...

Parametric modelling of domestic air-source heat pumps [PDF]
A new domestic air-source heat pump model is proposed which can be parameterised either from field data, experimental data or manufacturers’ standard rating data. The model differs from the much more prevalent system-side regression models for these types of heat pumps in that it operates on refrigerant-side variables.

Innovative Process Integrating Air Source Heat Pumps and Direct Air Capture Processes
Most integrated assessment models indicate a need for technological carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere to achieve climate mitigation targets. Currently, direct air capture (DAC) appears to be one the “backstop” technologies suitable to provide this service.
