Spectroscopic Measurement of Air Temperature
INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF THERMOPHYSICS, 2010Optical dimensional measurements have to be corrected for the refractive index of air. The refractive index is conventionally calculated from parameters of ambient air using either Edlén or Ciddor equations or their modified versions. However, these equations require an accurate knowledge of ambient conditions and especially the temperature of air. For

The definition and equation for sol-air temperature are discussed. The sol-air temperature is defined as the outside air temperature which, in the absence of solar radiation, would give the same temperature distribution and rate of heat transfer through a wall (or roof) as exists due to the combined effects of the actual outdoor temperature ...

Comparison of Air Temperature Calibrations
International Journal of Thermophysics, 2014European national metrology institutes use calibration systems of various types for calibrating thermometers in air. These were compared to each other for the first time in a project organized by the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET).

Effects of open-air temperature on air temperature inside biological safety cabinet
Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice, 2011In Japan, biological safety cabinets (BSCs) are normally used by medical staff while handling antineoplastic agents. We have also set up a class II B2 BSC at the Division of Chemotherapy for Outpatients. The air temperature inside this BSC, however, decreases in winter. We assumed that this decrease is caused by the intake of open-air.
