Orbiting Carbon Observatory‐3: Preflight Spectral Calibration and Performance Evaluation
Abstract The Orbiting Carbon Observatory‐3 (OCO‐3) payload was installed on the International Space Station (ISS) in May 2019. OCO‐3 is providing measurements to quantify the column average carbon dioxide dry air mole fraction (XCO2) near the ISS ground track.

Abstract The unexpected collapse of the Marmolada Glacier in the Italian Alps on 3 July 2022, caused 11 fatalities and emphasized the need for a deeper understanding of unstable glaciers. In response, we initiated a radar monitoring campaign to assess the stability of the remaining ice cliff and obtained a near‐continuous data set of displacement at ...

Forest Degradation and Weather Jointly Affect Early‐Life Development in a Tropical Understory Bird
More than a decade of field data from Kenya's Taita Hills show that forest degradation and warming jointly shape nestling development in a tropical forest bird. Nestlings in small or degraded forest patches had poorer condition, especially during low rainfall, while intact high‐canopy forests buffered them against drought and heat. Wings and tarsi were

Mobile laser scanning as reference for estimation of stem attributes from airborne laser scanning
The acquisition of high-quality reference data is essential for effectively modelling forest attributes. Incorporating close-range Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) systems into the reference data collection stage of remote sensing-based forest inventories can not only increase data collection efficiency but also increase the number of attributes ...

STEM MODELING FROM TERRESTRIAL LASER SCANNING USING THE BLOCK MINIMUM APPROACH
Terrestrial laser scanner is widely used in forestry surveys to map and estimate tree dimensions. The main problem is still how to reconstruct the tree geometry from the laser scanner point cloud.

Airborne laser scanning and Mediterranean environments - Croatian case studies
Coastal archaeology combines research in dierent environments: land surface, intertidal zone and sub-aquatic area. In consequence of the use of dierent archaeological methods for these dierent physical environments, there is a border between land and underwater zones.
