Wind shear signal simulation of the airborne weather radar
2011 IEEE RadarCon (RADAR), 2011Wind shear is recognized by a major hazard during takeoff and landing of aircraft, which can be detected by airborne forward-looking weather radar. A high-fidelity wind shear model constructed by the Computational Fluid Dynamics software has been implemented in this study.

Improved Retrieval of Reflectivity Factor for Airborne Weather Radar
Advanced Materials Research, 2014For the airborne weather radar signal processing, the intensity of the meteorological targets is represented by the physical quantity called reflectivity factor. When observing the middle-or long-range meteorological targets at low altitude from a high-altitude radar platform, due to the incomplete beam filling, the retrieval result of the reflectivity

Airborne weather radar as an instrument for automatic mapping
14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications. MIKON - 2002. Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat.No.02EX562), 2003The classification of navigational radar landmarks and the principles of their display at automatic radar mapping are proposed. Selection algorithms of each type of navigational landmarks are developed. The priority of navigational landmark classes is established, and the scheme of the combining different channels is designed. The automated recognition

Ground clutter censoring for airborne weather radar employing DEM
Proceedings of 2011 IEEE CIE International Conference on Radar, 2011A ground clutter rejection method based on Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is proposed, which can be used to censor the clutter when airborne weather radar operates in weather mode. The theory of visibility analysis is used to identify the ranges with clutter.

Vertical-Array-based Contour Reconstruction Algorithm for Airborne Weather Radar
2020 IEEE 11th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), 2020Aiming at meteorological target, in this paper, a new contour reconstruction algorithm is proposed against the disastrous weather. The algorithm is capable of reconstructing the specific contour of meteorological target by exploiting vertical array of airborne weather radar system.

The Implementation of Airborne Weather Radar in Simulation System
2019 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2019in this paper, a semi-physical system is established to simulate real airborne weather radar, which provides a training environment on the ground for flight crews. A display and control module (DCM) is designed in GL Studio software, and a serial port was adopted in DCM as a communication interface connected to a signal processing module.
